Jana Kuska

I came to Canada from my native Prague in 1969. My family settled in Kingston where I was employed by Queen's University as a research assistant at the Geochemistry Department. As well as my work at Queen's, I took an opportunity when in 1989 the Czech Republic opened its border to visitors to escort various small groups there.

I widened my tour conducting skills by escorting groups from Czech Republic to Canada and the USA. After 25 years at Queen's, I transferred my skills to the travel industry where I work with clients on a personal level and strive to help them achieve their best and most memorable vacations along with organising and escorting tours worldwide.

I love to share my passion for history, architecture and music with my tour groups.

Through Today's Woman Traveller, my new passion is creating and guiding women's tours to India.

"Thank you so very much for organizing the trip to India. It was delightful and thoroughly enjoyable. Our small group allowed us to do things a large tour group would never be able to do. The stops to the brick yard, the gypsy caravan along the highway, the marble yard, the visit to the Hindu temple to see the food preparation and food service to so many, the walk about in Old Goa. Jana, you were always so thoughtful and considerate of each of us. I felt that we were a group of friends from the beginning. You were so very accommodating. It gave me comfort to travel with you and not alone." Z.J.D., Toronto
